LDA Grants Permission to Private Housing Schemes to Conduct Azadi Festivals

Lahore Development Authority, the governing body of Lahore that supervises and controls the private housing societies was approached for permission by some private housing societies seeking permission and assistance to organize 14 August 2018 celebrations. It is mandatory for the private housing societies’ management to seek legal permission before organizing public gatherings or events that may include a large number of attendees. Azadi Celebrations have become a serious event over the last couple of years and every private housing society feels it necessary to host one or more in order to please their residents and to promote their presence in the industry.

In a recent notice, LDA has granted permission to the following housing societies to organize Azadi events.

Al Jalil Garden	Sharqpur Road, Sheikhupura

The above mentioned housing societies are permitted to hold private shows at their locations.

At the moment it is unclear if entry is restricted to people having passes or it is open for all, it is advised to contact the venue management to apply for entry (if prior registration is required) for concerts and matches.
