Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop and Bahria Town Lahore – Latest
Two sections of Lahore Ring Road Southern loop were opened on December 22, 2017 connecting Kamahan (near DHA Phase 5) with Adda Plot on Raiwind Road. The third section of Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop will connect Multan Road with Raiwind Road. This very section – officially designated SL-3 of Lahore Ring Road -will be passing through Bahria Town Lahore and will have an interchange in nearby located NFC Phase 2.
Lahore Ring Road Benefits for Bahria Lahore
Once completed, SL-3 will provide an easy approach for residents of Bahria Town Lahore to all the major areas of Lahore. With a speed limit of 100kph and wide lanes dedicated for light traffic vehicles (except bikes), travel time will be reduced substantially.
The Lahore Ring Road launch on December 22 also has some great advantages for Bahria Town residents. Even from Adda Plot interchange of Lahore Ring Road travel time to main city points will be as follow:
- Ferozepur Road will be ideally reached within 10-15 minutes
- Lahore Airport will be at a drive of maximum 25-30 minute from Bahria Town Lahore.
- Travelling to DHA will take hardly 20-25 minutes.
- Residents of Bahria Town Lahore will reach areas like G.T Road and Jallo Park on the other side of city within 40-45 minutes because of Lahore Ring Road.
Lahore Ring Road Passing Through Bahria Lahore
As explained earlier, Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop-3 will be passing through Bahria Town Lahore. Golf View Residencia is going to be the first project within Bahria Lahore that Lahore Ring Road will touch. After that it will be crossing through Tulip Extension and Rafi Block with an elevation of 300 ft. near the Grand Jamia Mosque. It will travel further to Janiper Block and EE Block finally moving onto Canal Road where it will have an interchange near the main entrance of NFC Phase 2.
Lahore Ring Road Development Status
Lahore Ring Road SL-3 will be nearly 8.5 km in length. Starting from Adda Plot on Raiwind Road, it will terminate in Maraka on Multan Road. This section of Lahore Ring Road will only have two interchanges, one near NFC phase 2 and other on Multan Road. Approximately Rs. 8.67 Billion will be spent on land acquisition and reallocation of resources for Lahore Ring Road SL-3. Construction price will be paid by the private contractor who will be reimbursed by Punjab Government through a lease agreement. Bidding process for selection of private construction firm is underway and it is expected that the construction will commence soon after Punjab Government awards the contract.
According to official documents, Lahore Ring Road SL-3 will have 3 bridges and 3 underpasses for vehicular traffic, in addition to 14 drainage culverts and Intelligent Transport System (a.k.a automatic ticketing system).
